Hello! I’m Nour, the hands, heart, and vision behind Nour’s Hair Lounge. I moved from Lebanon to Canada in 2018, landing in Truro, Nova Scotia, with plans to study architecture. I enrolled in math classes to prepare, but a few months in, I realized my heart wasn’t in it. Before moving to Canada, I had already started working as a hairstylist, and it didn’t take long to know that’s exactly where I belonged.

I got my cosmetology license in Nova Scotia, and began my career in Truro, where in my very first year, I was honoured to receive the Newcomer Award for Colchester County. I worked there for a few years before moving to Halifax during COVID. After gaining experience in a few salons and spas, I decided it was time to build something of my own.

In October 2022, I opened the first Nour’s Hair Lounge in downtown Halifax. It was a cozy space where I poured my passion into every detail. At 27 years old, I had officially become a business owner. In April 2025, that dream grew as we moved into a bigger, newly renovated salon on Lower Water Street, a space filled with light, intention, and love.

Today at 29, I’m not only a full-time hairstylist and salon owner but also a brand educator for Schwarzkopf and DivaCurl. I get to teach other stylists all across Nova Scotia, and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
